  • Officer Ronnie Wyatt Memorial Integrity Award

    In accordance with Command Bulletin Number: 02-2013, A. Classification of Awards #10. Ronnie Wyatt Memorial Integrity Award: Awarded to persons who displays the highest level of Personal and Professional Integrity (embodying professionalism, integrity, spirit, and character) that can be demonstrated by a police officer while fulfilling their professional duties. This award was established out of respect for Officer Ronnie Wyatt who exemplified all of the aforementioned qualities during his lifetime and service to the citizens of Jackson. Officer Wyatt was recognized posthumously as the first recipient of the award named in his honor. Citation: "Ronnie Wyatt was a dedicated and loyal police officer. Ronnie had a thirteen year career in law enforcement as a identification specialist and finally as a police officer assigned to the Uniform Patrol Division. Officer Ronnie Wyatt was quiet, very pleasant, well-liked , and universally respected by his fellow officers throughout the Police Department. He was a true professional. Officer Wyatt passed away on September 14, 1998. Out of respect of Ronnie's dedicated professionalism and integrity, Chief Richard Staples established the "Officer Ronnie Wyatt Memorial Integrity Award" to recognize the highest level of Professional Integrity that can be demonstrated by a police officer in carrying out professional duties.
