Fullerton, Jr. came to the Jackson Police Department in 1967.  He spent his entire career in the Patrol Division, serving as an officer and supervisor.  He was known for being what we term a "work-a-holic".  He always held a second job throughout his career.  He was also known as one of the best financial minds in Jackson.  In 1998, he recieved a Certificate of Achievement for working over 25 years without missing one day.  The last day of worked he missed was December 29, 1994.

Since his retirement, Captain Fullerton has traveled to 48 states, excluding Alaska.  He has been to Canada three times and Mexico once, all on senior citizen bus trips.  He was elected secretary/treasurer of the Fraternal Order of Police in 1998.  He currently retains the office of treasurer.  He is also secretary/treasurer of the Jackson Police Retired Officers Association and trustee and treasurer of the Oakfield Cemetary Association.  He is on the Board of Directors for the Salvation Army.  He and his wife, Sudie, are active members of Hillcrest Baptist Church in Jackson, TN.
