Gerald Wiltshire began his twenty-five and a half years of service on December 5, 1988 when he was assigned to the Patrol Division to answer calls for police service. Then Gerald was injured which resulted in him being temporarily being reassigned to Crime Stoppers during most of 1989.  During those months, Officer Wiltshire ran the Crime Stoppers Program by himself and without supervision which prompted him being recognized by former Chief Rick Staples at which time Gerald recieved the Certificate of Merit on February 28, 1991 for his outstanding preformance.  Later on June 19, 1998 Gerald Wiltshire was assigned to the Criminal Investigation Division to serve as an investigator.  There he investigated many different types of crimes.  

Gerald Wiltshire also served as both an observer and as a mission pilot in the Aviation Unit.  On October 27, 2001, he was intrumental in locating an elderly man who was lost and in danger of succumbing to the elements.  For this actiion Gerald Wiltshire was awarded the Police Lifesaving Medal. He also received numerous letters of commendation.

On August 28, 2009, he was promoted to the reank of Sergeant.  Sergeant Gerald Wiltshire continued to serve as the supervisor of the Aviation Unit throughtout the rest of his career.
