Jimmy Jordan began his career with the City of Jackson Jackson Police Department November 16, 1968.  He was hired as a Patrol Officer assigned to the Patrol Division. On October 1, 1977, Officer Jordan transferred to the Traffic Division.  

Then on January 15, 1985,  Jordan was promoted to Corporal and in the year 1989 he was transferred to the Criminal Investigation Division as an Investigator assigned to the Auto Theft Unit.  During his career, Inv. Jordan received several letters of appreciation and commendation for his service to the community.

Inv. Jimmy Jordan retired from the Jackson Police Department on January 14, 2000 after more than 31 years of service with the department.
