Doris Jackson was hired as a Patrolwoman for the Jackson Police Department on April 15, 1975. She was assigned to the Patrol Division.  

Then on December 1, 1979, Officer Jackson was transferred to the Juvenile Division. On April 16, 1980, Officer Jackson was promoted to Investigator where she worked until the Juvnile Division was disband during a reorganization that lead to Investigator Jackson being transferred to the Criminal Investigation Division on August 23, 1989.  Investigator Jackson was assigned to the Violent Crimes Unit where she worked until she retired.  

Investigator Jackson received the Employee of The Month award in April of 1992. She also worked at the local Fire Department as a Dispatcher and was member on the Child Abuse Review Board in 1985. Inv. Jackson received numerous letters appreciation and commendation her outstanding job preformance as Investigator and representation for the Jackson Police Department.

Investigator Doris N. Jackson retired from the Jackson Police Department on April 30, 2000 after over 25 years of service with the department.
