Charles Woodson Cox began his career with the Jackson Police Department the 1st day of October 1967. He was hired as a patrol officer and he was assigned to the Patrol Division.  

On January 1, 1980, Officer Cox was promoted to the rank of Corporal.  Cpl. Cox served his entire career in the Patrol Division and during his tenure he received numerouse letters of appreciation and commendation for his service to the community.  He was one of many officers that performed above and beyond.

Cpl. Charles Woodson Cox retired from the Jackson Police Department on May 16, 1981 with over 13 years of service with the department.
