Raymond Gaba was employed with the Jackson Police Department for (35) thirty-five years which started from the 1st day of July 1928 until the 16th day of July 1963. Gaba began his career with the Jackson Police Department as the Assistant Chief assigned to assist with fingerprint and photographic work. He also served as the Director of the Traffic Division in addition to his other duties.

Then on the 15th day of August 1959 Asst. Chief Gaba was promoted to Chief of Police for a two-year term. Chief Gaba undertook a reorganization of the department effective the beginning of 1960. Chief Gaba was reappointed for a two-year term in July of 1961 until he retired on the 16th day of July 1963.
