Before Captain Jesse C. Jackson began his employment with the Jackson Police Department, he served our country with his service in the U.S. Army from 1944 to 1946.  Being a WW II Vet, Captain Jackson was honorably discharged after a tour of duty, including landing on the beaches of Normady.  Upon arrival to Normady he is noted for walking across Europe carrying a "B.A.R" or a Browning Automatic Machine Gun.

On September 1, 1956 then Policeman Jesse C. Jackson began his career with the Jackson Police Department.  Twelve years later and on October 15, 1968 Policeman Jackson was promoted to Sergeant.  After being a Sergeant for less than one year, he was promoted to Lieutenant on March 01, 1969. He remained as Lieutenant for thirteen years and was promoted to Captain on February 17, 1982.  

After thirty-three years of service to the City of Jackson, Captain Jesse C. Jackson retired on July 01, 1989.  During his career he received numerous Letters of Commendation and Certificates of Training.
