Bobby J. Law was employed with the Jackson Police Department for (27) twenty-seven years from the 16th day of July 1957 until he retired on the 5th day of December 1984.  Officer Law started out as a Patrol Officer and was promoted to Sergeant on March 1, 1969 and then was promoted to Lieutenant the following year effective July 1, 1970. Then on June 8, 1983, Lt. Bobby Law was promoted to the rank of Captain over the Patrol Division where he spent his entire career.  

Captain Law was afforded numerous opportunities to further his education and skills by attending courses such as: T.E.L.T.A. - Police Mid-Management, N.R.A. Firearms Instructors School, T.E.L.T.A. Hostage Negotiation, F.B.I. Special Tactical Firearms School, and Illinois State Police Academy - Anti-Terrorism Training Program.  He also received several letters of appreciation and commendation for his serivce to the community.
