Terry Richard Stone began his law enforcement career when he was hired as an Obion Police Officer and while in their employment, Terry attended and completed the Tennessee Law Enforcement Training Academy.  Then on September 5, 1974, Terry Stone was hired as a Jackson Police Officer.  

During his tenure,  Officer Stone served as a Patrol Officer in the Patrol Division, a Warrant Officer, a Community Relation/Crime Prevention Officer, a Investigator and a Park Officer which he remained until his retirement on February 12, 2004.  Officer Stone worked under the direction of three different Chiefs of Police during his career and was nominated and elected the Employee of the Month twice.  Once in November 1993 and again in December 1998.  

Officer Stone was described as being a loyal, dedicated police officer who was active in civic and religious organizations - who used his annual leave and holidays to volunteer to travel to foreign countries to serve as on the mission field when he could.  Officer Stone stated he gives God the glory for his career as a police officer.
