Mr. James Mumbower began his employment with the Jackson Police Department on August 3, 1983 as the parking meters repairman.  He remained in the Parking Enforcement Division for his entire tenure with the Department, which spanned 31 1/2 years.

Mr. Mumbower is a quiet, dedicated, hard working employee.  He has one of the most under appreciated jobs in the City; however, he performed his duties with diligence and without complaint.  While he was somewhat reserved, he is always friendly and eager to help.  His quiet, consistent dedication to the City of Jackson and the Police Department gained him recognition as the "Employee of the Month" in April, 2001.

Mr. Mumbower is married and the father of one daughter, Heather.
