John Lambert began his thirty-seven and a half years of service to the citizens of Jackson when he was hired by the police department and assigned to the Patrol Division on April 1, 1977.  He served in the Patrol Division answering calls for police service.  On February 19, 1982 John Lambert was promoted to the rank of Corporal and then on February 10, 1987 he was promoted to the rank of Sergeant of the Patrol Division.   Then on July 03, 1990, John Lambert was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant in the Administrative Division where he was assigned as the P.O.S.T. Certified Training Officer for the Jackson Police sworn personnel. 

Throughout his career Lt. Lambert received several letters of commendation and letters of appreciation for assisting surrounding agencies during their in-service training. Lt. Lambert was later selected by his peers as the Employee of the Month in November 1994.   The service of Lt. John Lambert was in the highest tradition of the Jackson Police Department.
