Louise George Burlison began his career with the Jackson Police Department on January 14, 1946 when he was hired as a police officer. He was assigned to Patrol Division.

Officer Burlison was later promoted to the rank of Sergeant on May 1, 1959 and he was assigned to be the Desk Sergeant.  He remained in this positon until he retirement.

Sergeant Burlison retired from the Jackson Police Department on July 15, 1967 after serving over 20 years with the department.
