Arthur Lowell Peters was hired as a police officer with the Jackson Police Department from the 31st day of January 1983. Prior to his employment with the City of Jackson Lowell served in the U. S. Marine Corp and later served in the Military Police Active Reserve Unit in Nashville, TN.  

Officer Peters was an active member of the Faternal Order of Police, The American Law Enforcement Officer's Association and the United Tawkwon Do Association.  He was also an active member of Shady Baptist Church.

After serving four years and two months on the Jackson Police Department, Officer Peters was involved in an automobile/motorcycle crash to which Officer Peters succumb to the injuries that he received as a result of the crash.  Officer Arthur Lowell Peters died on April 18, 1987.
