Connie Morgan "Buddy"  Bush began his employed by Jackson Police Department on May 5, 1980. He graduated from the Tennessee Law Enforcement Training Academy and was assigned to the Patrol Division.

Bush served as a Patrolman until he was promoted to Investigator and transferred to the Criminal Investigation Division in April 8, 1987.   Bush was later promoted to Sergeant in December 13, 1989 and was transferred to the Patrol Division.   Bush was later promoted to Lieutenant on September 11, 1996.  Then Lt. Bush was transferred back to the Criminal Investigation Division where he served as the Unit Commander over the Property Crimes Unit.
Lt. Bush was voted by his peers and received the Employee of the Month in January, 1991.  

During Lt. Bush's tenure, he was selected to attend Northwestern University Center for Public Safety School of Police Staff and Command Class of 173 which occurred in  2002.   Then Director Alex Weiss of SPSC made a special effort to commend Lt. Buddy Bush's academic acheivement in that he along with five other students completed the course with GPA's of 4.00which wre the highest agerages in the 173rd SPSC class.  Director Weiss stated; "This result is indicative of his effort, dedication and commitment to excellence". . . Director Wiess was speaking of Lt. Bush's outstanding academic preformance at SPSC . Also during his career, Lt. Bush received numerous letter of appreciation and commendations for his service to the community. 

Lt.. Connie Morgan Bush retired on January 17, 2009 after serving on the Jackson Police Department over 28 years with the department.
