Susan Linda Dungey began her law enforcement career at the Jackson Police Department on May 12, 1982 as a Patrolwoman.  Within the following month, Patrolwoman Susan Dungey attended and completed the Tennessee Law Enforcement Training Academy – Basic Police Recruit School.  Upon graduating from TLEA on June 25, 1982, Susan Dungey was assigned to Patrol Division.
 
While serving in the Patrol Division, Officer Dungey was promoted on February 11, 1987 to the rank of Corporal.  Within the following two years, Corporal Susan Dungey transferred to the Communications Division/ Dispatch.  In July of 1990 Officer Dungey was promoted to Sergeant.  Four years later, Sergeant Dungey transferred to the Criminal Investigations Division and served in the Preliminary Investigations Unit.  She remained with the Criminal Investigations Division for the next thirteen years.  On July 14, 2007 Sergeant Susan Dungey retired after 25 years of service to the Jackson Police Department.
 
Throughout these twenty-five years of service, Sgt. Dungey received many letters of commendation for her dedication and loyalty to her assigned duties.  She was also nominated as Employee of the Month for September 2005 for all her hard work while working with Preliminary Investigations.

Sergeant Susan Dungey retired from the Jackson Police Department on July 14, 2007 after having served for over 25 years.
