The law enforcement career of Clay Junior Haddix at the Jackson Police Department began on December 28, 1981, following a short stint at the Bolivar Police Department.  Officer Haddix to the police department with certifications from the Tennessee Law Enforcement Training Academy as a police officer and from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration as a Severe Stom Spotter.  He furthered his education by attending several classes and seminars regarding child sexual abuse.

Officer Haddix began his career in the Patrol Division, transferring to the Juvenile Division, Criminal Investigation Division, and again in the Patrol Division until his retirement.  While working in the Juvenile Division, he was promoted to the rank of Investigator.  When that division was dissolved, he was absorbed into the Criminal Investigation Division.  In August of 1997, he was re-classified as a Police Officer IV and transferred back to the Patrol Division where he served the remainder of his career.

Officer Haddix received several letters of commendations from his superiors, as well as businesses and citizens of the City of Jackson.
