Officer Michael Wayne Scott was hired by the Jackson Police Department in 1988 and was assigned to the Patrol Division.

Prior to becoming a police officer with the Jackson Police Department, Officer Scott was employed with the City of Milan Police Department from September 1979 to July 1983.  He was later hired by the State of Tennessee as a Trooper with the Highway Patrol.  He worked with THP from July 1983 to May 1987.  He then left there to work for the City of Bradford Police Department from August 1987 to April 1988, where he was Chief of Police.

Officer Scott obtained several letters of commendation from the citizen of Jackson, Tennessee thanking him the performance of his duties.  He was also elected by his peers as the Employee of the Month in March, 2009.

Officer Michael Wayne Scott's career in law enforcement spanned over 31 years and over 21 was with the Jackson Police Department.  Officer Scott retired on June 0, 2009.
