Joe D. Siler began his employment with the Jackson Police Department September 1967 as a Patrol Officer.  During his service, Siler was promoted to the rank of Corporal  on September 30, 1981and then to Sergeant on March 17, 1982.  

Then later, Sgt. Siler was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on January 16, 1985  while still assigned to the Patrol Division.  During his career, Lt. Siler received numerous letters of appreciation and commendation for his service to the community.

Lieutenant Joe D. Siler retired from the Jackson Police Department January 1993, serving the community for 26 years.
