Mack Cozart began his career with the Jackson Police Department on January 1, 1942.  Then in July 1944 he was promoted to the rank of Sergeant.   Sgt. Cozart progressed within the department and was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant in June 1951.  

Lieutenant Mack D. Cozart retired from the Jackson Police Department on February 1, 1956.
