Dennis Hall began his career at the Jackson Police Department on June 1, 1966 as a Patrolman assigned to the Traffic Division.  As Officer Hall progressed in his career he was promoted to Sergeant in the Traffic Division on January 1, 1972.  


Sergeant Hall was later promoted again on January 15, 1985 to the rank of Lieutenant in the Traffic Division and was later transferred to the Prisoner Intake Division of the Police Department.   Lt. Hall distinguished himself as an expert in the field of  Hazardous and Radioactive Materials which lent to his being recommended to the Faternal Order of Police as the Officer of the Month in March of 1985 when he put himself in extreme danger when he shut off a safety value on a sensitive propane gas tank.  

Lt. Dennis Hall served on  the Jackson/Madison County Local Emergency Planning Committee where he played an integral part by working with industry, hospitals, media, governmental agencies and citizens to identify hazardous materials routes through out the City of Jackson and reviewing those plans with the Tennessee Emergency Management Agency representatives.  

Lt. Hall was also voted to be the Employee of the Month by his peers in January 1996.  At that time, Lt. Hall was described as working well with officers on his shift and the citizens of Jackson.  Through his career, Lt. Hall also recevied numerous letter of appreciation and commendation for his service to the community.

Lt. Dennis P. Hall, Jr. retired from the Jackson Police Department on May 13, 1998 after serving nearly 32 years with the department.
