Prior to starting work as a Meter Maid for the Jackson Police Department Traffic Division, Mrs. Loretta Gillman spent six plus years assigned to Parkview School as the School Safety Guard and supervised over the children going to and from school, safely.  This assignment started on October 31, 1957.
On May 06, 1964 Loretta Gillmann was assigned to Traffic Division’s Meter Maid position.  Mrs. Gillman was labeled as Jackson Police Department’s first Meter Maid.  She continued this position through the remainder of her career and retired on July 01, 1987 after twenty-nine years of service to the City of Jackson.
